In the past honor in League of Legends was based only on how many honors your have, and except for ribbons shown while the match was loading and summoner icons for the 10% players with most honors in one of the four categories.In season 7 Riot has introduced a more rewarding and complex honor system for League.But the honor now doesn’t base only on how many honors you have received, but also on the Matchmade games you have played.Points that you get for playing and getting honored by your teammates increase your honor Level. Currently you can progress from honor level 0 until the maximum of honor level 5.Each one of the honor levels include 3 checkpoints, for which you can get a reward when you reach them.At the end of each season you will get rewards according to the honor level you ended with.The honor level will also reset:. Honor level 5 resets to level 2, checkpoint 3. Honor level 4 resets to level 2, checkpoint 2. Honor level 3 resets to level 2, checkpoint 1. Honor level 2 resets to level 2 without any checkpoint reached.
After reaching honor level 2, you will get key fragments used for Hextech crafting, which are distributed from time to time to players with honor level two and above.Aside the rewards you get periodically, for reaching checkpoints aside the key fragments you can also get honor capsules and honor orbs. Players with level above three will also be able to get temporary flairs visible in their loading screen.Honor capsules are granted for reaching honor levels 3, 4 and 5.

The honor level 5 orb contains 3 key fragments and a champion shard. Flairs can be earned by getting honored by two premade teammates, or one non-premade teammate. After a game that you have been honored, on the loading screen of the next game you play the flair will be visible on your border. The flairs last for one game, but if you get an honor again, the flair wouldn’t disappear for the next game.Honor season rewards are awarded at the end of each season to every player that has reached at least honor level 3. The awards for both season 7 and season 8 in League of Legends were unique ward skins for level 3, 4 and 5, depending on which the player has reached.
